Description

Rothman Index is software/graphing info that pulls 26 items from current documentation within Method (nursing assessment/labs/vital signs) and can be utilized to see trending data and any changes. The index generates a graph and can be viewed by staff. Will be conducted on units M6SW and D8E/W

Time to educate the staff is 2 hours per nurse. It will be starting mid October unit end of November.

Comfort room- developing a room where M7N patients can go to self regulate to decrease usage of the seclusion room or the need for security hold.

Medical training will be provided and includes around 30 minutes of training for RNs and MHTs in October

Pain Management, using APMS to consult for patients who were on pain management prior to surgery or pain that are not managed by our multimodal approach. Will be conducted on Dunn 7.

The pilot will start on October/November and end in one quarter. Training will consist of 2 hours of introduction and a 30 minute refresher.

Dunn 9 and FICU are working on a Discharge Consult Process

Starts October 1st and will be part of daily process. It will impact all unit staff and physicians.

BOOST Pilot- Society of Hospital Medicine Transitions in Care Initiative involves nursing, doctors, case management and care navigators. First unit will be Fondren 11 then Alkek 7.

The training will be a Teach Back Method for staff and the video is one hour basic program instruction. This will roll out in January and move to the other units every 6 months.

CHG Bathing protocol research study being conducted in SICU

5 Staff are required to spend a couple of hours in training. Pilot is being conducted from now until December.

Delirium Pilot will be starting in October for units SNF (WP8), Rehab, (WP9 & WP10) D9E/W and A8.

Nurses on these units will do an LMS and then receive education at the bedside 1:1

 

ICU Liver Foundations Course being conducted in SICU.

We have identified a need for a much more in depth focus on care of the liver patient in our ICU. There will be 16 hours of education in a 4 month period. The pilot is still under development and will be rolled out in November.

Cortrack 2: Rolling out this new product in all ICUs.

Education of staff will take 30-60 minutes each and will impact all unit staff.

New 8 view telemetry monitors on all of the Acute Care units

There will be a 3 day training in November 13th though November 15th and it will impact all unit staff.

Prevue pilot for D8E/W and Alkek 8. It is an ultra sound to help nurses start IV’s.

The units will identify who will be trained on the ultrasound and pilot the ultrasound for a few weeks. Plan on starting in October/November. This is a collaboration with the VAT team.

Interdisciplinary patient itinerary being conducted on all Oncology Units

Curos Study – research study to evaluate the efficacy of 3 different interventions to reduce CLABSI. Will likely involve 4 units D8E, SICU, FICU and D10E.
